Work in the Construction Industry? Looking for PPE?

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is vital for anyone working within the construction industry. PPE is worn for added protection and by law some types of PPE are required when working on a construction site, these can include Hi-Vis clothing, Head Protection, Foot Protection and Body Protection. Here’s a few of the most common PPE items required:

Safety Boots
By the sheer nature of their work construction workers are expected to wear safety boots when on site and doing heavy work. Steel toe cap boots are a firm favorite and help protect the feet from falling or dropped objects. Other risks can come from nails or sharp objects that you could easily tread on whilst you work. Certain style safety shoes come with midsole protection to help protect against this.

Hi-Vis Workwear
Hi-vis requirements can vary from site to site but as a general rule if a site has a hi-vis policy then you must follow it. It is extremely important in areas where vehicles are operating.  Some areas of construction work require a high standard of high-visibility i.e. traffic management workers, because of this their requirement may include long sleeve hi-vis jackets and hi-vis trousers giving them the highest level of visibility.

Head Protection
On almost all construction sites some form of head protection is required due to the high risks of head injury. The risks can come from falling objects and from hitting your head on something whilst you work. The best way to minimise the risk is by wearing a hard hat. We offer a great range of safety helmets including your standard 6 point hard hats with PE internal harness and vented ratchet hard hat.

Safety Gloves
Safety gloves aren’t always necessary on construction sites but are often strongly recommended for a lot of the tasks performed by construction workers. Hand injuries are one of the most common injuires amongst this industry and safety gloves can help protect the wearer from cuts, burns and other injuries. Some designs will also offer excellent grip for handling heavy machinery and equipment. We offer a great range to choose from including, high dexterity, cut-resistant, heat and cold resistance and many more.

Safety Goggles
Eye protection is of the utmost importance in construction environments as it can shield the eyes from dust and dirt particles.
